I really needed to see and hear this today! Thank you so much for sharing this knowledge amd wisdom with me because right now in my current life I really need regulation
Oh Andrea! It makes me so happy that reading this helped you in some way. You're not alone, the world is in need of regulation... Remember it's small steps towards knowing what safety feels like in your body. Often we can feel impatient or frustrated with ourselves, but the best first thing you can do is pause in the moment you become aware your nervous system has been activated, and use a pattern interrupt tool. Do you have a favourite tool that works for you?
'We have domesticated survival mode.' The renaming of it as excellence, drive, professionalism is exactly what makes it so difficult to recognise and put down.
Yes, this is the exact problem. My mission is to wake people up to stress NOT being our default state. And rebranding stressful states as excellence, drive, and professionalism is doing us harm. Hustle culture needs to die 💀 Flow state culture needs to be born 🪩
Oh Dana, thank you for letting me know! I wondered if a shopping bag having a cup of tea might be too surreal even for one of my closing scenes! I understand why it hit where it did from what you’ve shared here 🤍
Polly, this was an amazing read. It is like you told a version of my own story. Years ago, I hired an EFT Hypnosis practitioner to help bring out the last deep stuck trauma in my body. It was incredibly painful and beautiful. Now don't get me wrong, is is all gone.. no, it is an ongoing process. But having the tools to process, to feel on purpose and to let the body finish the process and to not store more baggage takes conscious awareness. It is also so very fascinating how our Human Designs show us deeper into how we "DO" emotions. And to be honest... I have so much more I would love to talk about on this very subject. ❤️
Hey thanks, Shelley! I’m so glad this resonated with you so strongly. Sounds like you’ve done a lot of great work, which takes courage that most people don’t have. Often there’s a “secondary gain” to explore that keeps you in the process longer than you need to be. Worth diving into when you have the bandwidth 🤍 And yes Human Design is a very helpful tool to understand ourselves better with as long as we don’t use it as a definition of our identity right!
It does take work to dig it all out. It can be very painful, but also so worth it. Human Design is awesome, and yes, simply a tool for understanding. We do have access to all energies, and yes, I have done a lot of emotional work over the years. Becoming great friends with my emotional embodiment. 😊
